Jóvenes indígenas y la Educación Superior: repitencia y deserción académica

Abstract

Although higher education should be a right for everyone, young people from the indigenous peoples and nationalities of our country have great difficulties in entering higher education institutions due to several factors such as: poverty, the gap that exists between urban and rural education and the influence of the family environment. For this reason, we sought to analyze what factors make it difficult for young people from the Don Bosco Intercultural University Residence (RUIDB), who are pursuing their third-level studies at the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS), to remain and complete their higher studies.
