| Abstract: | The city of Cañar presents mobility problems due to its population and commercial growth. At the intersection of Av. 24 de Mayo and Carrera Cuenca, congestion was identified through traffic counts and analysis using Synchro. The study determined a Level of Service F and proposes removing the roundabout and implementing traffic lights and road signage to improve it to Level D, reducing congestion and enhancing road safety. |
| Translated abstract: | La ciudad de Cañar presenta problemas de movilidad por su crecimiento poblacional y comercial. En la intersección de la Av. 24 de Mayo y Carrera Cuenca se identificó congestión mediante conteos y análisis en Synchro. El estudio determinó un nivel de servicio F y propone eliminar el redondel e implementar semáforos y señalización para mejorar a nivel D, reduciendo congestión y mejorando la seguridad vial. |
