| Abstract: | The study evaluates road safety on a 4 km section of Av. de las Americas, specifically the segment between Miraflores Park and the Hospital del Río located in Cuenca, using the iRAP methodology to reduce crash rates. This method rates infrastructure through a star rating system. The technical analysis covered everything from road geometry and pavement condition to signage. Finally, it is concluded that the VIDA software and the iRAP methodology are essential tools for the management and improvement of road safety. |
| Translated abstract: | El estudio evalúa la seguridad vial en un tramo de 4 km de la Av. de las Américas específicamente en el tramo comprendido entre el Parque Miraflores y el Hospital del Río ubicado en Cuenca, utilizando la metodología iRAP para reducir la siniestralidad. Este método califica la infraestructura mediante un sistema de estrellas. El análisis técnico abarcó desde la geometría de la vía, estado del pavimento y señalización. Finalmente, se concluye que el software VIDA y la metodología iRAP son herramientas esenciales para la gestión y mejora de la seguridad vial. |
