Importaciones ecuatorianas del sector textil y su influencia en el PIB: período 2020-2022

Abstract

The textile industry in Ecuador stands out for its historical, cultural and economic importance, representing a crucial pillar in national economic advancement, being the focus of studies and establishment of regulations to promote progress in the transformation of the country's productive matrix, the objective of This research is to analyze the relationship between imports of the Ecuadorian textile sector and its impact on GDP during the period 2020-2022. A correlational and descriptive quantitative research approach was used. Using data from the Central Bank of Ecuador and SENAE, it focuses on Ecuadorian textile companies to analyze numerical data using statistical techniques. The most significant results will show an increase in GDP and imports in the textile sector throughout the period examined, despite the fact that imports show greater variability. This suggests a more complex and volatile market; As a result, the textile industry continues to make a significant contribution to Ecuador's GDP. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the shift towards digitalization and increased the importance of innovation and business adaptability, therefore, the study emphasizes the need for policies that support the resilience and sustainability of the sector.
