Análisis de las oportunidades en el sector bananero con la Firma del Tratado de Libre Comercio entre Ecuador y China

Abstract

The signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Ecuador and China is a relevant issue due to its impact on the Ecuadorian banana sector, traditionally dependent on European and North American markets. The main objective of this study is to analyze the opportunities in the banana sector with the signing of the FTA between Ecuador and China. This research used a qualitative, descriptive, non-experimental approach, the instrument used was an interview with three banana industry managers and three experts, providing data on changes in exports, investments and challenges faced. The main results reveal that the FTA has allowed Ecuador to offer more competitive prices, which has boosted exports and encouraged investment in the sector.
