Evaluación de la comprensión de los testigos de advertencia del cuadro de control de instrumentos de vehículos categoría M1 mediante la normativa ISO 9186-1

Abstract

This project evaluated the level of knowledge of dashboard warning lights using the ISO 9186-1 method. The research was conducted in the city of Cuenca with a sample of 323 participants. Sixteen symbols were analyzed, of which only 6 (37.5%) reached the 67% recognition threshold according to the ISO 3864-1 standard. The results show a low level of knowledge, especially among young drivers and the elderly, highlighting the need for training to improve understanding of these symbols and promote road safety.
