Analiza las narrativas audiovisuales de la docuserie “Sé dócil: Oración y Obediencia”

Abstract

This article analyzes the audiovisual narratives of the docuseries "Be Docile: Prayer and Obedience", starting from the analysis of its audiovisual narrative construction. It first identifies, which are the foundations of Roland Barthes theory of denotation and connotation, applied to the audiovisual narrative, so that through them the docuseries can be analyzed as an audiovisual narrative and the meaning and message of this docuseries can be interpreted. The aim is to demonstrate whether the docuseries has the elements that make it possible to transmit to the spectator the emotions, feelings and thoughts of people belonging to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is the central axis of the story. The research is based on the narrative analysis of the entire narrative structure in general, complemented with the denotative and connotative analysis of the docuseries. As a result, the power of the narrative in the viewer is determined, making it possible for the viewer to allowing him to decode according to its construction process, through an analysis, connotes that there is an intention behind it, a meaning that makes possible the interpretation of the message, which in this case falls on one of the constant social problems in society, machismo, as a life practice, becomes, together with polygamy, the way of life of many women who ceased to be submissive.
