El rol de los textos escolares en primer año de educación general básica del Colegio Particular Paulo Freire en la ciudad de Quito

Abstract

This research analyses the role of the first year of school texts of Basic General Education of the Paulo Freire Private College, for which the functions and management of school texts have been identified, with this analysis focused on the High Performance Kids text from the Mathematics area of Editorial Santillana S.A. in the teaching and learning process. The approach to the analysis is basically qualitative, although quantitative techniques have also been used. The classroom observation technique demonstrated the functions of the text within the classroom, the usefulness of the text as an educational resource in content reinforcement could be determined, although it sometimes replaces the development activities of the skills in the area of Mathematics.
