Video reportaje sobre procesos de comunicación-educación popular en talleres de Hip Hop, con jóvenes privados de libertad, del Proyecto “Liberarte” en el DM, Quito 2012 - 2017

Abstract

The present study seeks to analyze the role of communication-popular education and Hip Hop, in the development of social reintegration programs among young people deprived of their liberty. To do this, qualitative research and ethnographic methodology are used, using the technique of field observation, as well as an in-depth interview with five members of the "Liberarte Project", as well as a pedagogue and three of the PPL. In the same way bibliographic material is used, to give theoretical sustenance with categories such as communication, communication-popular education and Hip Hop. As a result of this research, a video report on the "Liberarte" Prison Cultural Project has been prepared, carried out between the 2012 and 2017 periods, at the "Virgilio Guerrero" Youth Guidance Center and the "El Inca" Provisional Detention Center in Quito. ; evidencing how the Hip Hop workshops in these centers are a proposal that vindicates the human being, from the implementation of a type of communication-open-participative education and an integrating cultural model that, together, become a tool of social transformation in people deprived of freedom granting them alternative spaces of inclusion and social reintegration in front of a hierarchical, repressive and excluding system.
