Abstract

The cultural news of Ecuador evokes complications in terms of local identity, since the approach of the youth society towards the musical artistic expressions of the foreigner has led this sector to ignore manifestations of its own culture, which evidences a complex problem to solve. Cultural institutions, educational centers and media linked to art have joined efforts to disseminate the musical production of Ecuador, although the results evidenced have collaborated, the problem persists. The present research contribution addresses the life and work of one of the most relevant and influential musical artists of history in the Ecuadorian cultural scene, Julio Alfredo Jaramillo Laurido. Through the production of a radio program, the influence and cultural reach of the music interpreted by the artist from Guayaquil from the scientific research perspective and the interview with experts on the subject are highlighted. The development of academic contributions linked to culture and art show the interest of educational centers for the promotion and scientific dissemination of local manifestations of all kinds, in this aspect: the musical. The media continue to develop significant contributions to society, from the journalistic research attached to the cultural, communities can benefit from such efforts.
