El ciclo del trauma: revisión bibliográfica sobre cómo la violencia en la infancia se reproduce en la vida adulta

Abstract

This thesis aims to address the phenomenon known as the cycle of trauma, with a direct focus on experiences of violence during childhood, which are responsible for the perpetuation of the trauma cycle in adulthood. Sufficient information was gathered to support the validity of this research and to reflect the internalization of violent relational models, deficits in emotional regulation, and a cycle that ultimately normalizes violence as a means of resolving conflict. The study analyzes the consequences of growing up in a violent environment or one marked by unprocessed trauma, and how these experiences influence identity formation, affect regulation, and the way emotional bonds are established and maintained, thereby increasing the risk of reproducing conflictual parenting practices in adulthood.
