Abstract

This paper reflects on the relationship between intangible cultural heritage and ethics. The study is framed within a critical and symbolic anthropological perspective, which recognizes heritage as a dynamic social construct. Based on the analysis of international regulatory frameworks (UNESCO, France, China, Ecuador, among others), the role of ethical values in the management, identification, and transmission of intangible heritage is examined. The methodological approach is qualitative, documentary, and comparative, complemented by analytical elements from symbolic anthropology. It is argued that heritage is not merely a set of practices from the past, but a dynamic process with ethical meanings that shape the identity of peoples. The research seeks to contribute to a more comprehensive and inclusive understanding of heritage, promoting the active participation of communities and the recognition of their value systems in contexts of cultural diversity.
