Incidencia de la política pública en la gestión de residuos y derechos ciudadanos

Abstract

This research examines the impact of public policies on waste management in El Inga and the violation of the rights of its residents. The primary objective is to highlight these violations through community testimonies and an interview with a public official, providing a direct perspective on the underlying structural issues. Using a qualitative approach, the study seeks to understand the perceptions and experiences of stakeholders regarding inadequate waste management and the weak implementation of environmental policies. The findings reveal the state’s failure to ensure dignified living conditions and the absence of effective mechanisms for comprehensive waste management, negatively affecting local health and well-being. It is concluded that current policies are insufficient and lack a rights-based approach, underscoring the need to rethink these strategies from a participatory, sustainable, and state-responsible perspective
