Abstract

The academic work titled "Postulates on the Divinity of Jesus Christ, Formulated by Elizabeth Schüssler Fiorenza, in the Context of 19th and 20th Century Liberal Theology" examines the controversy surrounding the Christological dogma related to the divinity of Jesus Christ from a contemporary perspective. Schüssler Fiorenza, as a critical theologian, reinterprets the dogmatic definitions of the early councils, questioning the "deposit of faith" and suggesting that dogma has been used to justify misogyny and imperial control in Christianity. She proposes viewing Jesus Christ not as the God-Man, but as a social advocate, which challenges the cohesion of Christian theology. The research, structured into two chapters, employs a qualitative and hermeneutical approach to analyze the philosophical and theological context of her postulates and their implications for the understanding of the divinity of Jesus Christ, highlighting the concept of kyriopatriarchy.
