Sacachún: Riqueza Intercultural

Abstract

This intercultural documentary will talk about the Sacachun commune and the San Biritute monolith that is located in the Province of Santa Elena, it is intended to show the cultures and beliefs of that community that still prevails in the inhabitants of Sacachun, the collective character of cultural identity has made it possible to guarantee the continuity and permanence in time of the communal society, and establishes the limits in relation to their social environment, defining who they are, with whom they share and how they are recognized in their heritage. The inhabitants of this commune will give their testimonies about the San Biritute monolith and the history of the recovery of this heritage that lies in the museum of this commune, for which they fought a lot so that it can return to its place of origin, thus leaving knowledge about as the beliefs, traditions, identity and heritage of the peninsular peoples are still maintained. Culture and cultural heritage are not usually considered rights; however, just as there is the right to enjoy a political identity, there is also the right to enjoy a cultural identity.
