Niveles de estereotipos negativos hacia la vejez en una muestra de adultos mayores en la ciudad de Quito

Abstract

The study addressed the topic of negative stereotypes towards old age. The research approach was quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive in design. The objective was to identify the levels of negative stereotypes towards old age. The sample was non-probabilistic, consisting of 100 older adults belonging to an association in the south of Quito. Among the main results, it was found that 98% of older adults present a high level of negative stereotypes towards old age, the health dimension showed the highest level of negative stereotypes that corresponds to 98% of the sample, followed by the dimension motivational-social with 97% of those investigated and finally, the character-personality dimension with 93%
