Automatización de la gestión de información del proceso de trabajos de titulación de la carrera de Computación de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana Sede Quito, utilizando Power Automate y Power Apps

Abstract

This document presents the results of the automation of information management of the degree process in the Curricular Integration Unit of the Computer Science degree at the Salesiana Polytechnic University of Quito, using Power Automate and Power Apps. The purpose of this project is to optimize the procedures that are executed in this unit, in order to speed up both the reception and sending of information through the use of email messages. This initiative was carried out in the Computer Science program, at the Quito South Campus, responding to the detected need to create an application that supports the management of the processes inherent to the unit, accessible from both mobile devices and web browsers. and that involves the main actors in the process: students, teachers and the unit's management team. To carry out this project, the Microsoft tool known as Power Apps was used, complemented by Power Automate. These technologies supported agile and more appropriate management of the resulting application. The results obtained with the automated application will be beneficial for both the students and the administrative and teaching staff involved. It is expected that the application, with its friendly and easy-to-use interface, will speed up the process, reducing the time it usually takes to complete it. The application will also alleviate the workload of the Curricular Integration Unit staff. By automating many tasks that were previously carried out manually, staff can dedicate time to carrying out other activities or accompanying and advising students.
