Abstract: | This technological proposal presents the design and simulation of a PET plastic crushing equipment with helical grinding wheels. This equipment has a capacity of 20 kg/h, which allows the efficient reuse of plastic. Initially, information about the Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) plastic is investigated to understand its properties and uses. Then, a comparative study of the models available on the market is carried out, both nationally and internationally. The objective is to choose the best alternative in terms of shredding style. It was determined that conventional crushing is more expensive. Therefore, an innovative design is proposed that uses helical blades distributed in a head. The operation of the equipment is based on a machine connected to a three-phase motor and transmission pulleys. This guarantees greater operability, in addition to offering a reliable and simple design. This design is more economical compared to other systems and reduces noise during operation. For the simulation, a static analysis was performed. The results showed that the machine structure has a safety factor within the admissible range, indicating that there will be no structural failures. Furthermore, the cost of the equipment represents only 25 % of the cost of imported equipment with the same characteristics and capacity. |
