Desarrollo del lenguaje. Una propuesta de evaluación en niños de 5to grado de enseñanza básica

Abstract

To conduct this project, a group of twelve students from the Adventist Educational Unit of the Pacific underwent a reading assessment battery. The aim was to explore the development of language and its relationship with reading and writing, using the PROLEC-R assessment tool. It is important to note that PROLEC-R was used throughout the project to evaluate the automation of reading processes. Subsequently, the WISC-V psychometric test was implemented to measure IQ due to the integration of three students diagnosed outside the institution. These screening tools were used to identify the language development level of fifth-year basic education students. The results of these tests are of utmost importance for the elaboration of the diagnostic systematisation, considering the contextual and individual factors of each of the selected students. The investigation into linguistic difficulties in 5th grade students focuses on determining whether their language development is affected. Tests were carried out to address these questions and the results were analysed. Based on the analysis, recommendations were formulated and accepted by the educational institution. The aim of this research is to identify and verify information obtained through applied techniques. The language used is clear, concise, and objective, with a formal register and precise word choice. The text adheres to conventional structure and formatting features, with consistent citation and footnote style. The text is free from grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation errors. The process was carried out interactively and online, involving each student in the research systematisation.
