Abstract

The reuse of polyethylene terephthalate is an advantage that brings many possibilities for manufacturing new products in which it helps us reduce pollution and the long decomposition time that this type of plastic takes. Furthermore, this type of activity helps improve the economy of people who decide to start a business with this type of material. Thus, being a very good opportunity to recycle and put this material to good use. Polyethylene terephthalate as a support and filter medium for wastewater is a good opportunity for improvement because it can be combined with different filtration materials such as activated carbon, filtration stones, fabric, etc. This allows us to filter any type of solid waste contained in contaminated water, thus helping us to search and find more economical alternatives to pre-treat industrial wastewater. Industrial wastewater is one of the most seen problems when making environmental technical visits, because it is necessary to know if they treat this water and where they usually discharge it. Therefore, the first step that must be done is a pre-treatment of these waters to minimize the contamination that this water has. Subsequently, chemical treatments of industrial wastewater are carried out so that in this way a water can be obtained. treated and can be reused for other types of activities.
