| Abstract: | This work presents the comparative study of two manufacturing techniques for the construction of an AFO, through the thermoforming process versus the 3D printing method. It begins with terms related to the techniques and then proceeds with the manufacturing details of each of the methods. For the manufacture of the orthoses, equipment available within the Salesian Polytechnic University was used and the thermoforming process was carried out at the Hermano Miguel Foundation. |
| Translated abstract: | En este trabajo se presenta el estudio comparativo de dos técnicas de manufactura para la construcción de un AFO, mediante el proceso de termoformado frente al método de impresión 3D. Se inicia con términos relacionados con las técnicas para después proceder con el detalle de fabricación de cada uno de los métodos. Para la fabricación de las ortesis se utilizó equipos disponibles dentro de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana y el proceso de termoformado se realiza se realizó en la Fundación Hermano Miguel. |
