Abstract

The objective of this research project is to identify and analyze the psychological changesexperienced by women between 18 and 25 years old after being victims of physical andpsychological abuse in the city of Quito in the period 2023-2024. Violence entails important consequences, which is why this research finds aspects that have been affectedsuch as self- esteem, confidence, communication, among others. It specifically addresses“intimate partner violence” (IPV), seeking to understand in detail the emotional andpsychological repercussions caused by violence. A qualitative approach has been usedwhich allows an in- depth exploration based on the personal experiences of each participant. To collect informative data to support the information of this research, interviews have been carried out to help demonstrate the psychological changes before, during and after the interpersonal relationship, facilitating a holistic understandingof personal experiences, contributing valuable knowledge, Data collection has been carriedout in an ethical and sensitive manner, providing a safe space. It is worth mentioningthat the people who participate in the project have already left violent relationships, sotheyhave put and trusted their experience during this work.
