Abstract

The following thesis focuses on analyzing the impact of the Trade Agreement between the European Union, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador on the Ecuadorian economy. The main objective of this research was to assess how this agreement affected various key macroeconomic variables, including exports, imports, the trade balance, and foreign direct investment (FDI). To achieve this purpose, a comparative analysis was conducted between the years before and after the entry into force of the free trade treaty. Economic and trade data were used to examine the behavior of these variables in the context of the trade agreement.
