Elaboración de un plan de manejo ambiental mediante diagnóstico participativo socioambiental, en la Comunidad Ancestral Armero en el 2023

Abstract

An evaluation of the environmental impacts affecting the ancestral community of Armero was carried out in order to propose an environmental management plan. The objective is to seek alternatives to mitigate and control the negative environmental impacts, so that the proposed programs help minimize the environmental effects. The first stage was to conduct a baseline survey in order to analyze the situation in the area of influence, analyze the physical and chemical parameters of the water with the ICA and compare with current environmental regulations, where sectors were selected at random from where the water is born to where it reaches the community, then surveys were conducted on water use, the valuation of the ecosystem and dialogue with the community about the flora, fauna, and negative impacts of human activities in the area. For the field work, the community collaborated in the sampling as well as in determining the baseline. As a result, the water quality is regular and some treatment is needed for drinking water because there is some contamination from livestock, agriculture, and tourism activities. There are also negative impacts on the ecosystem due to the "El Teleférico" tourist center, since the arrival of tourists causes solid waste contamination and damage to the natural environment.
