Abstract

The Santa Lucía canton has a fairly large or extensive history and cultural richness that is represented by the Chonanis and Daulis cultures. With the passage of time, these cultures have been lost and have been forgotten, especially in the Santa Lucía canton. It is of the utmost importance to provide more knowledge about these cultures to locals and visitors to keep their history, customs, etc. alive. According to the investigations carried out in this report, both from scientific repositories and interviews, most of the inhabitants, especially the students, seek to know more about their own ancestors, learn more about their cultural heritage and for this reason they attend the Municipal Museum of Santa Lucia canton since it is the only source of information on the history of these cultures. The objective of this research is to know and explain the reasons why the Chonanis and Daulis cultures are not fully known and seeks to rescue the importance of these cultures for the society of the Santa Lucía canton. The methodology used was of a qualitative "snowball" nature, field research techniques were developed, such as interviews with people from the canton and bibliographic research. In conclusion, it was possible to demonstrate the knowledge of the Mayor, the former secondary school history teacher and the historian of the Municipal Museum who wish to continue imparting their teachings on the Chonanis and Daulis cultures to the citizens of the Santa Lucía canton so that this is transmitted from generation to generation. generation. The results obtained in the field research (video report) were in accordance with the bibliographical research carried out, since several of the points taken into account in this video report were shared by the interviewees.
