Las expresiones comunicacionales de las fiestas San Pedrinas en Tabacundo

Abstract

The San Pedrina festival, over the years, has been losing the significance of its celebration. The objective of this work is to focus on the construction of the memory of the people who attend this event. For the realization of this work, academic articles related to the subject were carefully investigated, where it was found that there is previous research on the historicity of the festival, so interviews were conducted with residents of the canton to learn about the characteristics of the subject and how it has been maintained until today. The celebration is carried out for tourism and economic purposes, it does not focus on the communicational expressions of the dancers and musicians of the celebration; however, the people who live in the Tabacundo canton encourage the new generations to strengthen the cultural memory. The studies carried out through bibliographic support by means of academic articles and detailed interviews have allowed us to determine that there is indeed cultural hybridization among the participants of the event, given that, regardless of their customs or traditions, they merge to be part of the celebration, it should be emphasized that the ancestral is maintained; that is to say, their songs, melodies and dances native to the place.
