| Abstract: | The intention of this research is to investigate sexual harassment in the otaku-cosplayer subculture, more specifically to young practitioners of the activity known as "cosplay" in the city of Quito. The purpose of this research is to analyze the experiences of sexual harassment from social psychology and gender studies. This work is intended to raise awareness about the existence and consequences of sexual harassment within the cosplayer community and the impact it has on the practice of cosplay and on the lives of the victims. |
| Translated abstract: | Mediante el presente trabajo se pretende abordar el acoso sexual en la subcultura otaku-cosplayer, específicamente hacia jóvenes practicantes de la actividad conocida como “cosplay” en la ciudad de Quito. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar las vivencias de acoso sexual, a partir de la psicología social y los estudios de género. Con este trabajo se busca concientizar acerca de la existencia y consecuencias del acoso sexual dentro de la comunidad cosplayer, y qué afectaciones produce en la práctica del cosplay y en la vida de las víctimas. |
