Abstract

The theme of our project consists of an untold story in detail about a gift of gratitude obtained by the inhabitants of Ayangue, the "Christ of the waters". The information of this event is not easily found on the internet, so we have the need to conduct an in-depth investigation with historians, residents and people who were involved during the delivery o the Christ of the waters". Ayangue is a commune located in the parish of Colonche in the province of Santa Elena, on the route of the Spondylus, better known as the Pacific pool, where you can find and perform a variety of tourist activities such as fishing, beach and water sports, creation of handicrafts and marine tours to visit the "Christ of the waters". Within the investigation, the time that this statue takes, through its great influence as a sacred monument, the analysis of the great religious fanaticism, since it gives a sense of faith and spirituality to the believers who have great exceptions to know the place. All this is generated with the need to expand and seek the main sources that were within this fact, in order to have more knowledge about the subject, to present a communicative product that will finally be exposed to the authorities and the residents themselves to take into account the great history that has Ayangue and sacred sculpture that have that exalt their beaches. With this we want todeepen not only the history of the underwater Christ, but to cover beyond the wonders that Ayangue presents as a tourist sector, in addition to the religious impact that this statue promotes in the churches from their processions, also the influence that leaves economically trade of those who visit this place and cataloged as an underwater sanctuary
