dc.descriptionThis research paper seeks to identify the representation of the photographic images of the Yolocaust project in today’s society, that is, to know the importance of photographs categorizing them as a tool of social memory. That is why the project presents a comparative situation through photosets, between the contextual reality of the Holocaust and the present day on the representation of the Berlin Memorial. In order to determine the representativeness of the images, they were analyzed individually, so an analysis matrix was generated to determine the elements of their composition. In addition, 150 people were surveyed on the purpose of the photographic project. Also, experts in photography, social networks and social memory helped to inform the research. The development of this study concluded that the images of the project show how photography is able to immortalize facts or situations in the memory of people, from its composition. Therefore, it addresses the importance of digital manipulation in images to create a new reality and significance. In the same way, it identifies the importance of the contextual space-time knowledge that develops around it and as thanks to the use of social networks the virality of the photographs increases.spa
