Abstract: | One of the main threats posed by hill Atacazo is the loss of biodiversity due to forest fires caused by human activities. In Quito, in 2000, the FONAG (Fund for the Protection of Water) was created with which it seeks to ensure water quality and is one of the main programs that govern the Atacazo hill on environmental conservation issues. Worked jointly with the Santospamba community to obtain information from the main leaders of the area. The water flows of the Atacazo area were considered as part of a follow-up for the population's water consumption and to see if this exceeds the normal daily supply, which is 160 L /hab* day. The work analyzed the physicochemical properties of the soil and the water that was obtained from the Cinto river. Laboratory analyzes were carried out considering the temperature and density for the soil and the pH, turbidity, DBO5, COD, DO and total solids. The environmental impacts that can be generated were evaluated through a Leopold matrix. Within the community participation plans, activities such as: Carrying out field work to diagnose the organization of the community that is adjacent to the hill were considered, identifying leaders and community members. |
