The forests destined to the cultivation of this wood, characterized by being lighter and more moldable than others, are located on the coast and in the amazon. |
| Resumen : | En nuestro país, la industria procesadora de Balsa, es una de las más añejas, el Ecuador es el primer país productor y exportador de balsa en el mundo desde hace más de cincuenta años, y según el servicio de información del Ministerio de Agricultura, el 90% de la producción se exporta principalmente a los Estados Unidos y comunidad económica europea, y solo el 10% restante se destina a la artesanía casera del país. Los bosques destinados al cultivo de esta madera caracterizada por ser más liviana, y moldeable que otras, se sitúan en la costa y en la amazonía. |
