Análisis geotécnico de la cimentación del bloque “G” de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana Sede Quito, Campus Sur, empleando el software midas GTS NX

Abstract

Has emerged a concern by the functionality of the Block G of the Universidad Politecnica Salesiana sede Quito South Campus, as they have been presented some cracks in this structure, probably due to settlements excessive or settlements differential, for this reason, the analysis is carried out on the basis of data provided by the Laboratory of Soils from the University to collate the information and corroborate with finite element models generated with the help of the software, MIDAS GTS NX, which generate situations geotechnical experiencing the building. Simulating several scenarios in different models, obtaining results that allowed understanding the interaction of soil and structure. The differential settlements experienced by the building do not lead to a problem, they are in admissible range proposed by the current regulations.
