“Repotenciación del sistema de agua potable del barrio Doña Ana ubicado en la parroquia Guayllabamba, cantón Quito (Pichincha)”

Abstract

The objective is the repowering of the drinking water system of the Doña Ana de Guayllabamba water and sanitation administration Council that distributes water resources to the Doña Ana 1, Doña Ana 2, Doña Ana 3 and San Nicolás sectors. The current drinking water system does not work optimally because water is wasted and on the other hand, there are sectors of shortage of the same this because of illegal connections together with the non-existent storage to supply in periods of maximum consumption. Different information was collected such as: cartographic information, water quality, population, consumption, gauges, and the hydraulic structures of the system. In addition, a topographic survey of all areas of the drinking water network was carried out. With all the information, the system was analyzed for the current demand, at 10 years, 15 years and 25 years. Subsequently, an optimization was carried out for a period of 25 years considering a population growth obtained based on an analysis of habitability in recent years in the study sectors. In optimization, pipeline diameters and layout, pumping schedules and storage tank capacity were changed. Finally, there is a referential budget for the optimization of the system and its economic analysis, there are also plans that contain the new design of the storage tanks, layout of the distribution network and other hydraulic structures with their characteristics.
