Abstract

This work focuses on the analysis of equal marriage in Ecuador through the speech of the Facebook platform of the newspaper El Comercio. The main objective of the investigation is to examine the comments generated on the approval of equal marriage in Ecuador on the Facebook social network of the newspaper El Comercio. The specific objectives are: to study the construction of public public opinion on equal marriage, analyze the discourse of El Comercio newspaper on its Facebook page and examine the opinions expressed on the Facebook platform of the “Fundación Equidad” collective and “Lazos de Amor Mariano. " For seven years, LGBTI movements have struggled to get approval of same-sex marriage that has been achieved through a Constitutional Decree approved on June 12, 2019. Legal recognition of civil marriage between people of the same sex has generated several opinions within Ecuadorian society. Social and political organizations against and in favor of the law have expressed their different positions on social networks.
