Desarrollo psico-afectivo en niños y niñas inmigrantes entre 6 y 11 años hijos(as) de usuarios(as) del Servicio Jesuita a Refugiados en Quito entre marzo y agosto del 2019

Abstract

The objective of this research is to understand the psycho-affective development in immigrant children, indirect beneficiaries of the Jesuit Refugee Service in Quito, carried out in 2019. The selected sample responds to the reality that Ecuador is going through in the face of the migratory phenomenon, seven girls and three boys, immigrants between 6 and 11 years old, participated. Based on the stated objectives, five categories were identified, such as: psycho-affective development, white behavior, emotional state in relation to migratory experiences and / or experiences of the participant's life history, cognitive development and interpersonal relationships, in turn divided into subcategories that will describe more specific themes, among which are the ability of children to express emotions, feelings, moods, social skills, problem behaviors, this information is related to psycho-affective development in relation to their age and their migratory experience. The methodology used in the present investigation is qualitative, which allowed to know the reality of the participants through interviews, workshops and application of a test together with the participant observation. The research allows us to describe a reality within the migration phenomenon that seeks to promote a different perspective vis-à-vis the investigated population - boys and girls -, giving it a leading place in migration
