Memoria social de las tradiciones culturales de Zumbahua.

Abstract

Zumbahua is located in the Pujilí Canton belonging to the Province of Cotopaxi, it is a tourist and hospital place of enterprising men and women, where they celebrate and characterize the cultural festivals year after year in January, July and December, in honor of Pachamama, for sun worship and thanks to the harvest. The gestures, songs and colors worn by the disguised have unique meanings as they highlight the connection with nature and life. The crafts and paintings are native to the life of Zumbahua, they are based on everyday life, so they have a good reception among national and international tourists from different parts of the world. It was decided to make a communicative product that highlights the traditions, parties, culture, crafts and beliefs of the inhabitants of the Zumbahua Parish, so that students, teachers and others know the importance of each of the traditional festivals through a photographic record compiled for a year; In addition, the research is enriched by the stories and anecdotes told by the characters who participate in the parties for more than thirty years; they told us the importance of representing costumes at each party and the connection and meaning in the community. This research has the theoretical support of several authors around communication, interculturality, social memory, documentary photography, tradition and culture.
