Abstract

The objective of this research work is to produce a documentary video about the symbolic representations of the Dancer in the Octaves of Corpus Christi de Pujilí, revitalizing the traditional ancestral festival of the canton. These contents represent in a succinct way an exhibition about the celebration process declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation. The objective of this work is to visualize and communicate the symbol, and content of this cultural expression as elaborate attire, music, ceremonial dance, the main characters and the sense of community harmony in the popular celebration; likewise, the meanings of the elements and figures used, and that a collective document or memory can be obtained as a product obtained from an investigation of those who have been involved in the development and knowledge of the Pujilen cultural heritage. In the final product it is evidenced the ancestral cultural and patrimonial wealth that represents the feast of Corpus Christi or of the Danzante in the Pujilí canton, with purposes of general knowledge, tourist interest or of educational character.
