Crónicas sobre el impacto de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana a través de personajes de la Carrera de Interculturalidad Bilingüe

Abstract

This research sought to make visible the social and educational impact of the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) in three support centers in the country: Simiatug, Riobamba, Latacunga and the Bilingual Intercultural Studies (EIB). Staff of graduates and students of the UPS. The aspect to emphasize is its social philosophy of thinking and helping the indigenous of Ecuador, to the most vulnerable sectors where there was previously no third level education for the inhabitants of the three provinces. In itself, the UPS has provided education to sectors where it did not exist and has given the opportunity to students to grow professionally. The immersion of the UPS in the developing sectors and especially with that career education promoted local development, strengthening of its identity and preservation of the Quichua language. Most EIB students prepare to return and provide all the knowledge acquired in the schools of their own indigenous communities. The education that is given in the UPS in general is framed in the theory of communication that is the basis of this investigation through the education, that applies the praxis in the learning model of interrelation between students - teachers and through the system Preventive of Don Bosco, is used the reason, the religion and the love in the classrooms.
