Abstract

The development of the photographic book 'Llullo' aims to make known the Andean ritual Mushuk Nina that has been performed since 1991 in the Cayambe canton. Since it has an important intercultural trajectory that comes from the indigenous culture. In this book you will learn more about the history of the Mushuk Nina and certain social and cultural changes that this ritual has had over the years, including the transition that occurred due to the covid 19 that did not allow crowds and that caused each individual to celebrate the Mushuk Nina at home. Cayambe is the territory where the 4 Andean festivals of the Sun are celebrated which are: Mushuk Nina, Inty Raymi, Kolla Raymi, Kapac Raymi. Although Cayambe has a great cultural richness, the Mushuk Nina has not had much relevance and has not been found archives and in-depth research that show everything related to the practice. Therefore, the case of the Mushuk Nina, or new fire should be investigated from the communicational part to understand the impact of culture and the symbolism of the solstices and equinoxes that occur at the time of the ritual. The Andean year begins with the Pawcar Raymi and is commemorated every March 21 and refers to the flowering season. The tradition of the farmer is to leave offering the earth the first tender fruits. Cayambe is an Andean town that every day is in search of revitalizing and strengthening these practices and building a development with identity. The elaboration of the photographic book 'Llullo' has the phase of pre-production, production and post-production, in addition to the photo reportage where the historical memory, culture, language, and symbolism of the ritual is evidenced. Therefore, the elaboration of the photographic book 'Llullo' has the purpose of giving greater diffusion and knowledge of the customs that the indigenous people have regarding the New Year. Analyzing life stories, beliefs and the connection they have with nature, which are the result of direct research.
