Categorías que intervienen en los discursos de la población venezolana en movilidad humana en Quito, sobre la integración social

Abstract

This paper presents the results of the study it was proposed to analyze the categories involved in the speeches of the Venezuelan population in human mobility in Quito, on their social integration. For the identification and analysis of these categories, during the research process that had a qualitative approach and a phenomenological design, the techniques of bibliographic review and interview were applied. The bibliographic review allowed to describe the categories involved in the definition of social integration within a framework of human mobility; while the interview helped to identify the different notions that the Venezuelan population resident in Quito has about the object of study - social integration - and to determine the categories that go through those notions. 14 interviews were conducted: seven to Venezuelan citizens with different residency difficulties and seven to Venezuelan citizens who have managed in one way or another to settle in the city. The results of the analysis show that among the categories that intervene in the notions (employment bonding, social bonding, sociocultural bonding and migratory situation) of the social integration of the Venezuelan population residing in Quito are occupational integration, urban integration, legal and sociocultural integration. These categories are related to each other and show that social integration is constructed of several elements, which do not always occur, because it will depend a lot on the socio-cultural context of people in human mobility and of those who welcome them. These categories coincide with the theories of diversity, which place social integration as union in cultural diversity; that both migrants and locals weave their sociocultural networks contributing to each culture, where none lose their natural identity, on the contrary, they enrich themselves individually and collectively.
