Estrés laboral en docentes. Un caso de estudio en la institución educativa fiscal “Francisco Zurita Guayasamín” en el período 2021-2022

Abstract

The present work has the purpose of systematizing the experience derived from the realization of research on work stress at the Fiscal Educational Institution “Francisco Zurita Guayasamín”. The population for the study was made up by 48 teachers, 43 women and 5 men, with ages between 27 and 61 years, with an educational formation of Third Level. They work at this institution under the Basic General Education, carrying out their activities both in morning and evening sessions. We will try to analyze what is the work stress on the teachers, as well as the perspectives and expectations of those teachers on the questionnaire applied. The methodology used in this research consisted in applying the questionnaire on work stress used by OIT-OMS, which gives an individual value of seven factors: Organizational atmosphere, Organizational structure, Organizational territory, Technology, Influence by the leader, Lack of cohesion and Group support. In addition, observation and interviews were applied for the reconstruction of the data obtained in the research. Bibliographical resources were also employed to consolidate and validate the information. The results obtained indicate an intermediate level of work stress in most teachers of the Fiscal Educational Institute “Francisco Zurita Guayasamin”, being the factors Group support and Influence by the leader which show a higher work stress in the teachers population. In order to reduce the level of stress identified in these teachers, measures must be taken such as techniques of facing up the problem with the help of the department of student counseling (DECE) in order to decrease the work stress identified.
