Abstract

The article aims to generate an explanation of “The communicative practices involved in the construction of the social memory of the Imbabura Factory” through the collection of testimonies and the review of documentation on its history that allow identify the relationship, interaction and communication between the inhabitants of Antonio Ante, whose cantonal head is the city of Atuntaqui and show how the communicative processes have allowed the Imbabura Factory to prevail in history as a representative place in the canton and through which a social memory has been built. Thus, oral tradition is one of the most important and ingrained practices in the inhabitants of Antonio Ante. Through the stories shared between people is that it transmits the knowledge that each one has of the history of the place and it is from this knowledge that the memory of the factory has prevailed in the inhabitants and it is how they pretend that it prevails in the mem of future generations.
