Reproducción de estereotipos de género en el juego en la educación inicial.

Abstract

This case analysis seeks to explain how gender stereotypes are reproduced through the development of social practices identified in the Initial Education game of a school located in the southern sector of the city of Quito. This explanation seeks to understand the relationship that the environment has with the social reproduction identified through the imitation of behaviors and attitudes that are related to the development of gender stereotypes in the educational field. The development of the research was based on the problem identified on the reproduction of gender stereotypes, while the games of the children of Initial II were observed at the time of recess, to achieve the achievement of the objectives a qualitative methodology was used through the application of the participant observation technique, the development of field diaries and observation files as instruments. The work is structured by the description of the problem identified in the group of observed children, in the same way the revised theoretical foundation is presented to support the terms used, in addition to the type of methodology used in the preparation of the work, followed by the analysis of results that allow to identify the main findings that identify the existence of gender stereotypes placing women in a domestic role, while men establish themselves with productive roles, which are reproduced in the games played by the children of Initial II, finally present the conclusions of the work.
