Diseño estructural en acero del edificio para la fundación “FUNSIBA” en el Cantón Guayaquil

Abstract

The project focuses on the design of the steel structure of the FUNSIBA Foundation building located in the state of Guayaquil. The project aims to address the issue of modernizing the existing fund infrastructure, which presents serious structural and functional deficiencies that affect the safety of users as well as staff productivity. The main objective is to optimize the existing space by providing a safe, accessible and comfortable environment, contributing to improving the quality of life of beneficiaries and providing better working conditions. Steel was chosen as the main material due to its strength, durability and ductility, which are important characteristics in an area with high seismic activity. The project included a comprehensive analysis of soil conditions, design based on Ecuadorian building codes and structural modeling using specialized software such as AutoCAD and SAP2000, ensuring the accuracy and safety of the project. In addition to meeting current needs, the project also emphasizes a sustainable approach through the use of recycled materials and energy saving strategies to reduce environmental impact. Accessibility solutions are also being considered so that people in vulnerable situations can benefit from an environment adapted to their needs. The purpose of this article is to present architectural plans, cost analyses and detailed schedules that not only directly benefit FUNSIBA, but also serve as a replicable model for other future initiatives in the region. The objective of this structural project is to create an innovative, sustainable and socially responsible model that has a positive impact on the community where the project is implemented, as well as the development of social infrastructure in Ecuador.
