Revisión de la literatura sobre el alcance tecnológico de MPLS y GPON en el contexto ecuatoriano

Abstract

In this research, a study of the main trends of MPLS and GPON technologies is carried out in order to identify advantages and disadvantages of both technologies. This study contributes to the implementation of both technologies in Ecuador, a developing country. The use of both technologies is essential for the constant evolution of the country, as well as to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants and to generate more income at the national level. In order to meet the research objective, a literature review was carried out using the PRISMA methodology, which facilitated the identification of bibliographic sources that provided technical elements of both technologies, as well as identifying a set of good practices and recommendations for their application in various urban and rural scenarios. The main disadvantages of the technologies are also identified, and a study is made of the evaluations given by the authors in terms of specific parameters. It is concluded that the implementation of both technologies in Ecuador is of great benefit to the country from an economic and social point of view.
