Abstract

Choosing a university degree is a crucial moment in any person's life, as it will determine both their professional and personal future. However, this process can be complicated and overwhelming, especially when students do not receive proper guidance. This study focuses on improving vocational and professional guidance through the use of a survey that evaluated the process and carried out the tools to socialize effectively and meaningfully for students, in such a way that tests were applied that measure the attitude and interests of the students. Initially, the importance of vocational guidance in current education is examined, highlighting the need to provide students with effective tools that allow them to explore and understand their own interests, abilities, and values. Emphasis is placed on the relevance of this process to make well-founded decisions that lead to a satisfactory career. The various vocational guidance methodologies are then analyzed, focusing especially on tests that evaluate attitude and professional interests, offering a complete view of preferences. individual, which helps students identify their areas of interest where they can influence their career choice. This systematization includes the practice of these tests at the Almirante Illingworth Naval Academy, evaluating their effectiveness in guiding students towards university careers that are aligned with their vocations. Data is collected on students' perception of the usefulness of these tests and how they influence their decision-making process. The results indicate that the application of attitude and vocational and professional interest tests contribute significantly to an appropriate choice, providing satisfaction, confidence and reducing the university dropout.
