El lugar de la mujer en la sociedad contemporánea desde la filosofía de Simone de Beauvoir.

Abstract

In the last decades feminist thought has collected the contributions of philosophical movements such as structuralism or post structuralism; a set of theoretical influences that have made feminist thought a reference point for different political and social movements that search justice, equality and a series of other legal and human demands. The objective of this article is to analyze the role of the women in the contemporary society from the philosophical perspective of one of the most important thinkers of this movement, Simone de Beauvoir; a thinker who showed to the future the ways in which to rethink the place of women in society and analyze the obstacles they must face in order to be carried out as a “unique, free and individual project”. The problem posed is that contemporary women are still in unequal conditions compared to men; the woman carries a historical legacy marked by oppression that ends up alienating her existence. Because of this problem the idea is defended that Beauvoir’s philosophy shows the ways in which women can overcome alienation and take control of themselves. The importance lies in the fact that Beauvoir’s thought offers a philosophical approach of an existential nature that can hardly be found in other works of feminism.
