Abstract

Parenting styles are the various ways of teaching and educating that parents implement with their children throughout their lives, in this context it is necessary to mention that there are four types of parenting styles, among which we can mention authoritarian, permissive , the negligent and the democratic capacities, considering the first three as limitations for children to develop their abilities and to the extent possible and emphasizing that the democratic style allows the infant to be independent and autonomous in cognitive, social, emotional areas and motor. This issue is analyzed in parents of children with Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy considering that on several occasions they do not develop their independence due to the overprotection they receive when developing any type of actions.
