Fotorreportaje del Rap como manifestación cultural y estereotipos en la sociedad quiteña

Abstract

The project shows, through a photo report, a collective problem around Hip-hop artists, mainly those who make up the rap genre. These cultural practices acquired and manifested by many young people in Ecuador make up a highly recognized artistic movement that began in the 80s. The theoretical path that accompanies this research enables the analysis of cultural constructions, and the stereotypes generated from the manifestations. artistic, social imaginaries constructed from the interaction of individuals and the exchange of information that is possible thanks to communication, characteristic in the theory of Social Systems and also supported by another theoretical current that enables the development of the study. From a qualitative approach, the problem is analyzed to interpret and respond to this social phenomenon that affects a part of the population, during the research process the following data collection techniques are used: participant observation, non-participant observation, interviews, and surveys. In this way, several gaps and unknowns were solved that prevented a detailed understanding of the general reasons for the creation of stereotypes towards members of the hip - hop culture and subgenres such as rap, beat box, break dance and graffiti.
