Diseño del sistema de alcantarillado y planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales para el barrio La Joya I, parroquia de Cutuglagua, cantón Mejía, provincia de Pichincha

Abstract

The present project contains the studies and technical designs realized for the implementation of the Sewerage System and Wastewater Treatment Plant for the La Joya I neighborhood, located in the Cutuglagua parish of the Mejía Canton, in order to guarantee a correct disposition of the wastewater thus improving the quality of life of the inhabitants. First, a compilation of the necessary information regarding the project was carried out to select the new sanitation network based on an environmental, topographic and economic analysis, with the combined sewerage system as the best alternative in this study, later the hydraulic design, check in SewerGEMS software and design drawings; It was necessary to implement complementary structures such as the flow separator and rainwater discharge, the first designed in the form of a side spillway and the second in the form of a baffled outlets. In the treatment of wastewater, the design of the screening units, sedimentation tank as primary treatment, anaerobic filter upstream as secondary process and sludge management. Finally, an environmental management plan and its respective operation and maintenance manual are presented in order to carry out good construction practices and guarantee the correct operation of the system. In addition, it includes a referential budget that includes the costs that would be generated in the construction, operation and maintenance phase of the project; and a valued schedule in order to control the progress of the work continuously.
